Can my daughter/son participate double practices in the winter season?
When and what are the assessment practices? Who will be assessed?
The first three practices at West Valley College Pool, Nov. 17, 19 and 24 for all high school girls from 5-7pm. And the first three practices at West Valley College Pool, Nov. 18, 20 and 25 for all high school boys. Only high school players (girls and boys) will be assessed. The assessed practices will be one of the ways for coaches to separate players into the right groups by skills, levels and experiences for future practices. This is not the only way to do so. If a player feels that he or she should be in a particular practice group, it is always best to communicate with coaches. If you feel uncomfortable to talk to coaches, you can always email Teresa at email@example.com to share your thoughts.
After the assessment practices, we will move our top 16U boys players to Mountain View Pool starting on Monday, Dec. 1 from 4pm to 6pm, Mondays and Wednesdays. The remaining 16Uboys will stay at West Valley College for the rest of the season. We might open up for some local 16U boys to practice at Mountain View if he did make the advanced group and would prefer to practice at Mountain View due to convenience. If this is the case and we have plenty of them, we would put that group to Mountain View and practice one day with the advanced group and add Thursdays from 6pm to 8pm at Mountain View for them.
Our top 16U and 18Ugirls players will move to Los Gatos High starting on Monday, Dec. 1 from 7pm-9pm, Mondays and Wednesdays. The remaining 16U and 18U girls will continue to train at either Los Gatos High starting on Tuesday, Dec. 2 from 7:15pm to 9pm, Tuesdays and Thursdays, or Mountain View High starting on Tuesday, Dec. 2 from 4pm-5:45pm, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
What is Holiday Cup? And When?
Holiday Cup is hosted by Commerce Water Polo Club. Most of Sol Cal elite clubs participate in this tournament. Last year we had 3 teams participated (18U Boys, 16U boys and 14U boys). We will do the same this year. It was a great way for coaches and players to know how we did compare to Southern California teams, and it helped us to prep our 2015 JO teams. (As many of you know, our 2014 JO teams did very well.) This is a travel event. The dates will be from Dec. 19-21.
Who can participate in the Holiday Cup? How much?
Only selected players would be invited by coaches. If you would like to be part of it, please let your coaches know and/or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. It never hurts to ask. The fee would be $350.
What is Winterfest? Who can participate in Winterfest? When? How much?
Winterfest is second largest tournament in the nation besides JO. This event is open to every player at our club regardless of your level, skills and experiences. Each year we have had about 90 players participated in this event for the last few years, and this has been the biggest travel event for our club. The dates will be from Feb. 13-15. The cost is $375. A non-refundable deposit of $175 is due by Jan. 17. The remaining balance of $200 will be due by Jan. 31, 2015. The Early bird discount rate would be $350 if pay in full by Jan 17, 2015. Please let your coaches or Teresa know as soon as possible if you are interested.
What are the dates for the summer 2015 Puerto Rico trip? Who can participate in the Puerto Rico trip? Who will lead the teams?
June 30 to July 7, 2015. It is open to any players who are between the ages of 13-19. Gabor, Raffi and Teresa will lead the teams next summer.
Can my player make-up a practice at Mountain View/West Valley if she or he cannot attend the West Valley/Mountain View practice?
We would like to keep a very reasonable number of players per coach at each practice in order to maintain the quality of our programs. Sometimes we can grant your wish, but please always get an email approval from Teresa. Her email address is email@example.com .
What group should my child attend if he or she is still 14-year-old but goes to high school?
If you/your child is still 14-year-old and go/goes to high school, he or she should register with high school group for practices purpose; however, he or she can play in the 14Uand 16U games/tournaments.
